VCF Lens stores imported VCF files, scan results, and app settings locally on the device.

Imported genome files and scan results stay inside the app container unless the person using the device chooses to share, export, or back up device data through Apple system features.

• VCF Lens does not collect personal data through the app.
• VCF Lens does not upload genome files, scan results, search terms, device identifiers, or usage analytics to the developer.
• VCF Lens does not create accounts.
• VCF Lens does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.

When a person selects a .vcf, .vcf.gz, or .bgz file, VCF Lens copies that file into the app container for local scanning.

The app scans known marker identifiers and marker positions from the selected file. The bundled marker catalog contains annotations derived from public scientific data sources.

• VCF Lens does not perform diagnosis, treatment guidance, medical advice, or health prediction.
• VCF Lens does not include a full reference genome, does not perform liftover, and does not verify VCF coverage or lab quality.
• Results are for personal learning only and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.

Imported genome files can be deleted inside the app.

Deleting the app removes app-local files and scan results from the device, subject to normal iOS backup behavior.
